When we started the Creative Play Society we set ourselves a simple and ambitious goal: Helping the World Play.

We published a book, ‘The Little Book of Play‘ and launched a digital equivalent, ‘30 Days of Play‘. Of course we’re always working on at least one new project, and look forward to launching them as we go.

ALL THE ONES ADD UP

We’re a great believer in the idea that all the ones add up. Every morning we wake up and do our darndest to work out how we can Play with more people, even if it’s just one person.

According to Worldometers.info there were 8 123 734 182 people living on our planet at the time of updating this (24 July 2024, 10:11 SAST). It felt like we’d targeted a large enough audience 🙂 We’ve been steadily working at reaching our target, and as of today, we can confidently say we’ve reached 0.00000071% of the world’s population.

I KNOW, I KNOW. IT’S NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE. YET

I’m very aware that you may be reading this, smiling and even rolling your eyes at the sheer insignificance of our current number above. This post serves largely as a marker in the sand for us at the Creative Play Society, and something to look back at one day and hopefully smile.

In the meantime, it’s one person at a time (and sometimes maybe a few).

P.S. This past week it felt really good to send Play invitations to peeps in Ireland, which brings our global connection to people in 5 different countries.
